Mission

Junior League of the Quad Cities is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

We are Junior League

Junior League of the Quad Cities has been contributing to the Quad Cities community since 1921, when we began as the Junior Board of the Visiting Nurses Associations. The organization later became the Junior Board of Davenport. We affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International in 1981.

Women building better communities. That’s the Junior League. The Junior League has been a driving force behind the kinds of initiatives and institutions that make our community a healthier, more vital place to live.

Junior League members, reflecting a wide range of backgrounds, interests and professional pursuits work together to identify unmet needs and work to make change for the better. Time and time again, the Junior League is among the first organizations to step up to the plate and tackle the community’s biggest challenges.

We are a part of an international organization, The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., which includes over 155,000 women in 292 Leagues in four countries who make a difference in their communities every day through their volunteer efforts.

Association of Junior Leagues International

In 294 communities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, more than 190,000 Junior League members have been the driving force behind the kinds of initiatives and institutions that make communities healthier, more vital places to live: childhood immunization, family literacy, women’s shelters, children’s museums, historic preservation, leadership development, and more.

Comprised of 294 Junior Leagues in four countries, the Association of the Junior Leagues International Inc. (AJLI) has been providing support, guidance and leadership development opportunities to member Leagues for more than 80 years.

AJLI strives to unite all the Junior Leagues; provide continuity and support; and serve as the steward for the Junior League Movement. Today, through regional, national and international meetings, comprehensive resources and customized consultations, we add value to our member Leagues in their fulfillment of the Junior League Mission.

AJLI is governed by a 20-member Board of Directors, all of whom are members of the Junior Leagues in their communities. The Board is accountable to the Leagues for the development of goals, which enhance Leagues’ ability to fulfill the Junior League Mission. AJLI then works with the Board to provide services to Leagues that support the established goals.
